Upload speed is half of what is specified in the plan

Hi, I have the Superfast Plan of 800 down and 35 up, and I have never got the upload speed to what was specified, the max I hit is half of that, around 16 to 17. I have Arris S33 surfboard DOCSIS 3.1, I'm not looking for a next gen speed as my plan limits my upload to 35, and I read the specs that Arris S33 can easily do 35 up, can some one help?

Thank you for reaching out and creating a new post. I understand your upload speeds have not reached the full 35 Mbps included in your plan. Any performance issues with download speeds, or is it mainly uploads that aren't reaching the top speed? Assuming you are hardwired, have you tested various devices or even swapped out your Ethernet cord?

Hi Vinney, the download speed is as expected, no issues there. It is just the upload speed and I've tested using different devices, even directly hooked up to the modem, the upload speed reaches around 18 Mbps max (tired with CAT 6 and 8).

@Pras06 Thank you for sharing what you've done to troubleshoot this upload speed issue you're experiencing. Have you by any chance used the Xfinity app to reset the modem? How about a power cycle, have you tried that?

Yes, power cycled the modem and even unplugged the coax and replugged it as I was repositioning the modem.i even had the Xfinity assistance chat bot to resend the signal.

Gotcha, let us take a deeper look to see what can be causing this. Please send us a DM!
To send a "direct message" / "private message" message to Xfinity Support:
 • Click "Sign In" if necessary
 • Click the "Direct Message" icon or https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging
 • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
 • The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there
 • As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list
 • An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
 • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
 • Press Enter to send it
