Unstable Internet w/ Multiple Disconnects Daily

My wife works from home, and I spend alot of time online gaming, so we both notice when our internet completely drops out. Over the last couple months, it's been really bad in the Fort Meade, MD area. We are both connected via WiFi to an official Xfinity provided XB7 router. I use no other router or extra equipment. Router settings are default, same as the day the tech installed.

The issue is not the WiFi itself, but rather somwhere between our official Xfinity provided router and their backbone or PoP. The status light on the top of the router will start blinking yellow to indicate no connection to the Xfinity network. Whenever this happens, whatever competitive online match I'm in is ruined, and it's making working from home for my wife troublesome. Sometimes she's in a virtual meeting and gets the boot, which looks extremely unprofessional, and has the potential to have serious ramifications on her employment status.

My personal experience is, I start rubber-banding in the game and lag out, then see the connection to the xbox network and the internet is gone. Then I turn around and immediately see the blinking yellow light on the router. Then I run over to the PC and do a quick web page pull and nothing. This outage or drop in service usually lasts for 30 seconds to a couple minutes. I've tried properly power cycling the router, but it does not resolve the issue. The online troubleshooting tool never identifies or resolves the issue. Diagnostics via the Xfinity App are always fine. I also always get messages that Xfinity is constantly working in the area, sometimes multiple times in the same month, which seems to be indicative of expansion or troubleshooting/maintenance. So what the heck is going on?

When I had ATT in Florida, I never had this issue. It was extremely stable. When we pay as much as we do for internet, it should be far more reliable, especially when you are advertising it as suitable for gaming. Until Xfinity can increase the quality of their service in the area, all I can say to gamers and people who work from home is, if there is another mainstream ISP option available to you, choose that over Xfinity, because the support options will just give you the run-around and you're stuck with dog-poo internet.

If Xfinity can help me resolve this, it would be much appreciated, and I will gladly update this post.
