Underground cable line
I just moved into my new home, I brought my Xfinity services with me. When the guy came out, he said I wouldn’t need that box because it’s going to have to be a different one. So he installed it and the internet isn’t as good here. Then I received an email about an underground cable line. What is this for? Why is this needed here but not at my last few homes? Is this going to fix the issue with our internet going in and out like it’s been doing since we moved in? Are their going to be any issues with the WiFi while this process is being done?

Hello @user_u6fbb7, and thanks for reaching out on our Xfinity Community forums!
It makes sense to have questions about the underground line, especially after moving into a new home and immediately dealing with an internet connection that’s going in and out. We’d definitely like to help make sure everything is working as reliably as possible.
An underground cable request generally means additional work is needed with the line serving the home. Since every property and its existing wiring can be different, what’s needed at your new home may not be the same as your previous locations.
In the meantime, have you had a chance to use the Xfinity app to run a Whole Home Test? That can help identify whether there may be connectivity or Wi-Fi coverage concerns inside the home and give us a better idea of what needs attention.
