UNABLE TO CONNECT ANY ONLINE GAME

When trying to connect to any type of online game on PC, it does not allow me to log in and the entire internet in my house goes out. I can use the internet normally for everything else, it is only when opening any type of online game that happens. Also, the games work fine on my cell phone but not on my PC.

Welcome to the Xfinity Forum and thank you for posting your question here. When attempting to game on your PC, is the PC connected to the internet via a wireless/Wi-Fi connection or via a hard-lined ethernet connection to the modem? If connected wirelessly, we recommend connecting to the modem via an ethernet cable and changing your connection type on your PC. This should ensure a more reliable Internet connection. You can also test the Internet connection to your modem as well as to your individual devices via the Xfinity App

Please let us know if you continue to experience connection issues once directly connected to the modem or if you find any connection issues in the Xfinity App.

@XfinityJessie I can't connect via cable, I can only use Wi-Fi, everything works very well for me, only that problem when opening a game that doesn't even allow me to start it, since when I log in automatically the internet goes down.

@user_xmicd5 Just to clarify a few things, are you able to browse the internet and check email and such on your PC? It is only when gaming? Also, when the internet goes down, does your modem reflect as offline? Are all of your other devices unable to connect to the internet at that point or is it just the PC that is affected?

@XfinityBillie Only when I want to connect to an online game does it happen that the internet is cut off, for everything else it works perfectly, not in the app it does not reflect that the modem is turned off, it only disconnects the network and is quickly restored when closing the game.

Thank you user_xmicd5, is this through a platform like Steam? From the sound of it, there might be some hiccup with the app, everything is up-to-date on the computer as well? Those hiccups normally are security related if there are missing patches from updates in software.

I called customer service and they told me that they just saw that there was a problem with the games and they fixed it. So if anyone has a problem with this, I recommend calling and they can resolve it.
