Third party modem and router

I just bought a NetGear CM 500 modem which is compatible with Xfinity service to replace the one I am renting from Xfinity.   However, there is no port on the back for a phone line.  It has a Cable/Internet, Ethernet and power port but no phone jack.  Can I use this modem or do I have  to get something else?

Sounds like you bought a cable modem and you need a DSL modem. They are different types.

On the Devices page, be sure to select the "Voice/Telephone enabled" checkbox.

Yep, need to get the Netgear CM500V if looking for the closest product with voice to what you bought.
