Suddenly port 9000 tcp is being blocked by xfinity/comcast??

I have been using Port 900 now for 10 years for my security system. As of a few days ago it was blocked. WHY?

My security company & a couple Techs tried everything to unblock it .

They all say the same thing. Comcast/Xfinity is blocking it & only they can unblocked.

SO why did Comcast/Xfinity block port 9000 & when will they unblock it?

I need port 9000 unblock Now for I am at risk of harm without my security cameras working.

Hi, Ports on the internet are like virtual passageways where data can travel. All information on the internet passes through ports to get to and from computers and servers. When a certain port is known to cause vulnerability to the security and privacy of your information, Xfinity blocks it to protect you.

@XfinityAshley  So how do I get Xfinity to unblock it? I can't afford a new security system that doesn't use port 9000.

We can take a look to see if that is a part of something that has been blocked and from there see if there is a possibility to have it unblocked.

@dffy

FWIW. Here is a list of the ports that Comcast blocks. That port is not listed;
