SSH to host on LAN
Since upgrading my cable modem/router to the xfi, ssh has stopped working over the wifi.
All of the forum replies start off with “disable advanced security”
I have confirmed that advanced security is disabled and to my knowledge was never actually enabled
I have tried multiple router reboots, uninstalled/reinstall SSH-server, and rebooting all computers nothing seems to allow a connection
I have tried moving from port 22 to port 4000 with same results
SSH returns the following error
debug1: connect to address 10.0.0.50 port 4000: Resource temporarily unavailable
Note I can ping this IP address with no issue
SSH worked flawlessly with my old xfinity router, which has been returned to xfinity
I am able to connect on both port 22 and 4000 if I connect both computers to a different router
I also tried setting up port forwarding, which should not have made a difference since I am on the LAN, and had same results, no connection.
An Apache web server running on same linux box served web pages over LAN just fine with default port settings.
There are no messages in any of the logs from router Troubleshooting menu that would seem to indicate a problem with connecting on the LAN, although these logs seem to be set to a very low verbosity level

Good afternoon! How are you today? It sounds like this was something easily done before and you seem to have tried several steps to configure this already. To confirm, Advanced Security will need to be disabled and would come enabled on our leased modem by default. However, if this is turned off already, have you ensured that bridge mode is [Edit: Formatting] disabled as well?

I do not understand how enabling bridge mode an disabling the wi-fi router will help me. I wish to continue using the xfinity as I use the xfi pods. I received the message below to confirm enable, but canceled the command.
"Enabling Bridge Mode will disable the Wi-Fi router functionality of your Xfinity Gateway and turn off your existing private Wi-Fi network. If you have xFi Pods, the Gateway cannot be in bridge mode since the Pods require using the Xfinity Gateway as your WiFi router. In addition, you will not be able to access the xFi experience to manage your Pods or any other xFi settings. Are you sure you want to continue?"
