Splitting WiFi bands

I am trying to split my wifi bands to 2.4 and 5.0 due to an app that will only work on 2.4.  I went to my xfinity app, wifi, edit wifi settings but there is not a "toggle" to choose to change / split them as I had read online.  How can I do this?

@user_x5si91 Hello and thank you for taking the time to reach out to us here on our Xfinity Forums! I definitely understand how frustrating it can be to need a specific Wi-Fi band to connect an app. We're here to help! Can you please confirm the make and model of the modem you are currently using so I can confirm if it is capable of splitting the bands?

I’m having the same issue. I have a gateway xb8. To connect my mini splits I would like to separate and rename my wifi bands 2.4, 5 and 6.

Hello I was able to see the split bands option in the Xfinity app. How do I rename them? I can see them in Gateway admin function

user_0kmzao Hello, and thank you for confirming that. If you're able to see separate WiFi bands listed in the Xfinity app or Gateway Admin Tool, the network names (SSIDs) can typically be renamed from the WiFi settings for each band. If you're not seeing an option to edit the names, could you share a screenshot of what you're seeing (excluding any personal information)? That will help us determine whether the gateway is currently allowing manual management of the band names or if those settings are being managed automatically.
