Since I switched to xfinity internet, my browiser is getting hijacked

Since I switched to xfinity internet recently, my browser is now getting hijacked.  I have been visiting a blog site for years without problem.  Since switching to xfinity internet, the site is repeatedly being replaced with adds and popops for some sort of nonsense. It's the sort of hijack that you can't back out of, you have to close the browser entirely.

The ad pages even say "hello xfinity user!"

Why would changing ISP & wifi router open the door to this sort of hack?

Hey there, thanks for reaching out through Xfinity Forums! I can see how having issues with accessing your blog site would be frustrating. Have you tried to access the blog site using a different browser to see if that helps with the popups and ads?

Thanks.  I have since confirmed with the blog host that this is a known issue.  It is disconcerting to have a site you are visiting spontaneously change to an ad site.  But it sounds like my PC itself is not compromised.

Thanks for the update! We hope the site gets fixed soon, so you can go back to enjoying their content.

I no longer work for Comcast.
