Sharepoint - Unable to access via Xfinity

Had an issue with Xfinity Internet yesterday am- - restarted system - -back up and running - -except for Sharepoint no longer accessible.

THIS SITE CAN'T BE REACHED.   xxx.sharepoint.com took too long to responsd.   err_connection_timed_out.

My son has same issue with a different Sharepoint site.

using mobile wifi works!!!  ... no issues for other users accessing Sharepoint using different networks.   Xfinity support chat team stated to contact Microsoft - -it is not a Microsoft issue.   Sharepoint is accessible.. just not via the Xfinity wifi.  Was working fine till yesterday.

Update:  Xfinity resolved this issue for our neighborhood.  Took a while.  Lots of frustration with various reps with different responses and reasons.  Blaming on Microsoft.  No Callbacks, etc.. But.. it's finally resolved.. took a few days.. but happy we have access.

Our Community received notification from Comcast that the issues involving Microsoft websites have been resolved. There was an update issued by Microsoft which resulted in traffic being blocked. Comcast has been working with Microsoft to re-route the traffic to allow access

Pulling various info to help provide more background.  This impacts my whole community.  Xfinity will provide mixed message.  not them... no issues or outages, etc..

* Microsoft did an updates that aren’t playing nice with Comcast. Comcast’s system isn’t recognizing the IP packets and refuses to reply.

* issue is on Microsoft's side where they drop the network traffic after they receive it from Comcast. I contacted Microsoft and they said that they can't help me/us. They would need to speak directly with the ISP (Comcast). However, the Comcast help desk doesn't let people email them pictures so the only way to get this to Comcast it to show it to one of their technicians

has anyone ask Comcast to start a group ticket incident docket number we can all reference? I'm in VA Leesburg area is experiencing the same issue. Our HOA manager is also talking to comcast but wont tell us who. At the individual level trying to get a new modem to get a new IP address which might correct the problem for a few days.

Should we post our incident #s here so they (comcast) can get an idea of the size and scale of this outage/issue

No support from Xfinity - no idea what's going on. HOA is collecting information on people affected.

Thanks for the info. I called again and I got a recorded message acknowledging that we have internet issues. If you go to outage map in the xfinity app, you can probably see a similar message and request text updates.

We would be happy to review the updates being posted through the Xfinity app for you here @user_1lkphu!

Can you send us a direct message with your full name, name of account holder (if different), and service address please?

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:

Click "Sign In" if necessary

Click the "Direct Messaging" icon (speech bubble)

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there

- As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list

- An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

Press Enter to send it

By the way… This direct message / speech bubble is not functional for me. It just spins and never loads. The compose a message feature is disabled. I am signed in.

Hello @neil_911. We certainly understand the importance of being able to access Sharepoint, we use Microsoft products for work so I can appreciate the urgency of getting this fixed. Can you advise if the SSO login is pulling up when trying to connect? Can you also confirm if you're using one of our rental modems or your own?

@XfinityGabby I'm having the same issue and I use Microsoft products for work. I Work in IT and need to be able to access Sharepoint, Teams, and Onedrive. I have to manage multiple departments sharepoint sites, teams meetings, all my files are in Onedrive, etc.
And on my personal Side as well this affects Minecraft services as well as I assume those are on the same servers.
I've reinstalled Windows already trying to figure this out until I tested on a hotspot and everything works fine on my LTE but doesn't on Xfinity Network.

@neil_911 So you use SSO to login, but it times out when attempting to log in?

Hello xfinity employees…. Our workaround was to use a mobile hotspot. It is now at the end of the month and our mobile hotspot has started to throttle our bandwidth because we use the hotspot so much to get around this issue so that we can work. The throttled bandwidth makes many sites unusable. Some college applications due Nov 1st are having issues also. Please do whatever you have to do to fix this ASAP. You are causing issues for everyone in the family. I am still waiting for a call and an update from xfinity.

I was able to resolve issues connecting to Sharepoint on xfinity by disabling IPV6
