Separate bedroom internet

Our main modem/router is in the office area and my son wants to put his computer in his room which is at the opposite side of the house from the modem/router. He has a coaxial cable outlet but wants to know if he can just use a MoCa to tap into the Ethernet or if he has to have another modem/router to be installed in his room. My other two sons are asking the same so any info would be greatly appreciated

Hey @clbouchie, thank you for reaching out on our forums. Those are great questions and I had to go over the options with my house being a split level. You could use a MoCa adapter to get a ethernet connection as long as the modem supports MoCa. Having two modems requires having two internet plans so wouldn't be the most cost effective option. Another thing that can be done is using a repeater or extender that has an ethernet port. If you have a xFi gateway, our xFi pods are extenders and also have ethernet ports for direct connecting.
