SBG8300 parental control issue

First, understand I am not tech savvy.

I have an SBG8300 and it won't let me add, edit, or delete words or sites in the parental control area. I have 18 blocked sites and 26 blocked words entered. Is there a limit?  If so, how do I delete when it won't let me? I'd reset the SBG8300, but I'm afraid I will not be able to reconnect with all the correct settings for xfinity connection (this is where the tech savvy part scares me).

Also, unrelated to above, I have a 2.4 and a 5 GHz wifi set up.  They work fine, but can I set one of them to turn OFF at night?  I need one one for security cameras, but want the TV and phone shut OFF at night so kids will sleep.

user_kgvwmh Hello! We'll do our best to point you in the right direction since you are using a third-party modem. We did check and the modem you have which should be an Arris model, does have an app where parental controls and devices can be managed. We would suggest starting there to see if you are able to get this taken care of.

I did start there.  Called/chatted with Arris but they said it was most likely a x-finity issue.  They said I could reset the modem, but they didn't know the settings I might erase.  It scares me to try it without a little more knowledge.  If I reset the modem, are there indeed settings I would have to put back in to be able to connect with x-finity?

I sincerely apologize, we would not be able to troubleshoot the settings in your modem since it is a 3rd party modem. You would need to reach out to the OEM for further assistance with the settings on your modem.

so what happens if I just reset it?  will it reconnect to xfinity?  it is a modem xfinity said would work, and it has and is just fine, other than the parental controls thing I want to edit.  it must have come out of the box originally and connected somehow and I just want to make sure I'll be okay if I hit that reset button.

It will reconnect to Xfinity, you will probably need to go through the modem setup once more.
