Remove device

There is a device on my network that isn’t in my house. I'm trying to remove it, but the option to remove it is not there. I clicked on the device i don’t know and instead of having the option to remove it, it says this device needs to be disconnected before I remove it. I paused the wifi for that device, but still am not able to remove it. How do I go about taking care off this?

@XfinityJosephA This doesn't work, I spent 2 hours on the phone just so they could tell me they don't have access to do it. So yes, anyone who finds this message, this department helps none

Couple of possibilities.  A device attempted to connect to WiFi and failed, and is retrying periodically with the wrong password.  You won't see that in a log with their gear.  If it doesn't have an IP address, that might be the case.  It's not really a security issue.  You might be able to shake the device by changing your SSID to something else.

If it does have an IP address it's connected and you can ping or portscan it, then change your WiFi password, probably your Xfinity account password too.  It's on your network and you've got a data breach you need to fix.

If the device is actually on your network, it could also be the device is connected via MoCA (Ethernet over coax).  It's a security problem with Xfinity gear.  See if this post helps:  https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/your-home-network/unknown-device-connect-to-my-internet-through-moca/653081c277679f48f5baa060
