release reserved IP address XB8

Ok XFinity: How do I release an IP address that was allocated to a device inside the 'reserved IP DHCP' pool?

First off, this makes no sense to me. Why whould one need to reserve the DHCP addresses? Coming from a ASUS router environment, you normally 'RESERVE' the Ip addresses that are NOT in the DHCP pool. So, then what about the other devices, can one even see them from the gateway? But I can cut some of my fingers off and live with it.

My bigger concern, is - HOW DO I RELEASE (and reuse) and Ip address that was assigned to a device, as reserved, in your DHCP pool (still confusing), but please answer my question. I have a PC that, when I turned it on, it got an address out of the DHCP pool, fine. Then I made the [Edited: "Language"] mistake of reserving it!!!!!!! Then I manually configured the PC to get an address OUTSIDE of your "DHCP reserved' pool as I do not want to it be in the "DHCP pool" but static. To me that is what 'Static IP" means, but I cannot get your XB8 device to release this address back as unreserved. The device still shows as 'reserved IP" (in the DHCP pool), although the device is working fine with the manual IP I have assigned to it. Do I have to restart the XB8 device to release this ip back into the DHCP pool? I am certainly NOT going to factory reset the device. I have more than 150 devices in my home and for the hell of me am not going to reset the device each time there is a device that is moved or replaced.
