Recent 8/11/26 firmware update bricked my Xfinity WiFi extenders

Worked on this for more than 12 hours.  Woke up.  Gateway was down.   Xfinity app required unplug of gateway and restart.   The WiFi extenders behaved strangely - blinking and cycling with connected status in the app while constantly blinking and occasionally going offline in the app.  No amount of power cycling the gateway or extenders and removing and reactivating them resulted in  connection with the lack of blinking.  Over the day, every troubleshooting method was deployed.  3 chats.  1 live call.   We swapped the gateway and now none of the extenders will even go online after removing and reactivating.

Here is the firmware noted on the bricked Xfinity WiFi Extenders in case it helps you identify the same problem.  This firmware update is dated 8/11/2026 and was pushed overnight 8/18 - 19 to me and others where the WiFi extenders stopped working.

4.4.3.3-02-gf7526d-gpm8.0p24s1-20260811155230

Same exact issue here. 2 extenders coming in and out continuously. Resets, repositioning, etc. does not fix it.

Hey @Bdette01 , Thank you for visiting our official Xfinity Forums Community support page. We greatly appreciate you taking the time to reach out, provide great detail pertaining to the issue, and more. Currently, there is a known issue with some customers experiencing issues with their Xfinity WiFi Extenders being unable to the Internet or activate. We do not have any estimated time of restoration, but our engineering teams are working to restore the devices as quickly as possible.
