Hi there and welcome to Comcast @user_tjscoo. I am sorry to hear that your PS5 is not working. You are in the right place adn I am happy to assist you today. Now do you have any issues with other devices using the Internet service?

I am having the same issue. PSN fails to connect to internet intermittently. Running tests, the PS5 fails at different points - signing into Playstation network, NAT type, or upload speed. Sometimes it will connect for a minute or two then drop. I have reset the PS5, tried my own router with XB8 in bridge mode, added port forwarding, opened NAT and none help. I can  connect my PS5 to my tmobile hotspot and everything works brilliantly. I had a xfinity tech come out earlier in the week, but he found nothing wrong. He also said another customer had the exact same issue the previous day and he couldnt solve their problem either. Therefore, I know the problem is not my device. its something on the xfinity network struggling to resolve the playstation network domain name when it comes from my PS5. One of the tests I run is to check status.playstation.com. This fails on my PS5 when connected to xfinity but works fine on tmobile. It also works on my laptop when connected to xfinity. There is some sort of filter in xfinity that is blocking PS5 MAC addresses from connecting to the playstation service. This needs to be escalated to tier 2 or 3 support as I've spoken with multiple people at support who could not help.

The big problem is that gaming on the Internet is not safe anymore. The Comcast gateways are using WPA3. That is the highest security setting. You would need to lower the security setting to WPA2.

That doesn’t make sense if it fails on ethernet. What other suggestions do you have?

@giana.m, Hi there. Thanks for taking the time to visit our forums page for help and for your patience while waiting for a response. Just to confirm, are you experiencing this issue when connecting both hardwired and wirelessly or just when connecting the PS5 wirelessly?

Both hardwired and wireless. Both a static and dynamic IP addresses. With or without port forwarding. With or without putting the PS5 in DMZ. Using XB8 as the gateway or in bridge mode with my ASUS router.

but everything works fine on T-Mobile hotspot.

Please create a new topic of your own here on this board detailing your issue. Thanks. The original poster has not returned. 3-month-old dead thread is now being closed.

For future reference, it is better to submit your own post as it creates a ticket to get help, and posting on someone else's older thread can delay getting help.
