Printer error code E-6, MAC address filtering

I'm trying to connect my printer and it's giving me the error code E-6 and tells me to check whether my wireless router has restrictions such as MAC address filtering. What do I do?

Thank you for taking the time to reach out and being part of the Xfinity family. You can check your modem settings and see what your firewall settings are set to. I'd recommend switching to minimum to see if the printer can then connect.

No problem at all @user_Antoine! It's important we do all we can to help you. From a device that's connected to your network enter 10.0.0.1 into your URL. You should get a sign in window from here. The default username is admin and the default password is "password." If you are not using the default password you will want to enter your correct password. This link will be a great reference. (https://comca.st/3sFCGMF) You will see more details under "Log in to the Admin Tool." This all works perfect if you have an Xfinity modem.

Xfinity modem Xb7 by default uses 802.11 a/b/g/nx but the problem goes away when you reconfigure the xb7
to use 802.11 a/b/g/n.

change the radio format for your wireless signal from 802.11 a/b/g/nx to 802.11 a/b/g/n

these settings are changed within your cable modem or the device that is providing WiFi
