Printer connection

Since we upgraded our modem/router whenever we want to print we have to change our WiFi to our HP printer, print, and then change back to our Actual WiFi. Otherwise WiFi finds no printer. Why???

Hello, @josheppa. Thanks for reaching out to our Xfinity Community Forums. It sounds like your printer may need to be manually reconnected to your in home Wi-Fi so that your devices can recognize the printer on the network. Most Wi-Fi enabled printers will have a Network or Wireless Settings area within the setup menu.

@user_sf4bru If you have never connected to your private home Wi-Fi network on the Xfinity Wireless Gateway, you’ll need to enter the Network Key that is printed on the label affixed to the bottom of the Wireless Gateway and click Next. If you have changed the network key from the original setting, enter that key instead.

If you check your HP printer manual, there is a Wi-fi direct mode which does not require use of Comcast Internet.
