Power BI & Xfinity XB8 Gateway

I recently received an Xfinity XB8 modem/router and am getting the following error when trying to upload to Microsoft Power BI:

"Unable to write data to the transport connection: An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine."

I don't get this error when I use any other method of internet connection (i.e. mobile hotspot) and I didn't have this issue when I was using my own personal router.  I think something is being blocked/disconnecting on Xfinity's end with this new XB8 modem/router...  Anyone able to help me?

Hello @k8warren10 it is definitley strange to hear that you are running into this error, we'll help get this sorted! Are you trying to connect to the software via WiFi or are you using a direct ethernet connection? Are all devices that use this software getting the same error?

I only get that error when I use Wi-Fi but I don’t get the error when I use Ethernet… so odd.

Okay, thank you very much for that information. I would like to run some troubleshooting steps on our end for that issue. Could you send me a direct message with the full name and complete address for your service?

To send a direct message [private message]:

Click the "Direct Message" icon or  https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there.

   - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.

   - An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line.

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

   Press Enter to send it
