port forwarding disappears everyday

Every single day my port forwarding drop. I have spend hours on the line with customer service who assures me it wont. BUT IT STILL does everyday.

My device has a static ip.

Port open is 32400.

Advanced Security is on.

I put the rule in the app every single day. It drops every single day.

Hey there, @user_teci9h, thanks for reaching out through Xfinity Forums regarding your port forwarding concerns. Have you tried disabling your Advanced Security to see if that helps with the issue?

The Advanced Security routinely disables and removes open ports if it detects what it thinks is “unused” or “risky” behavior.

It was disabled and it was happening. I spent 1.5 hours online with an agent on chat and they had me re-enable it. They had me re add my ports like I do every single day and assured me it would hold. They do not hold. I have only had the service for 1.5 weeks now and this has been a nightmare.

Thanks for confirming user_teci9h! Are you using a separate router in bridge mode?

Set up port forwarding in the Xfinity app

  1. Open the Xfinity app and sign in with your Primary, Manager, or Member Xfinity ID and password.
  2. Select WiFi.
  3. Select View WiFi equipment.
  4. Select Advanced Settings.
  5. Select Port forwarding.
  6. Select Add Port Forward button and Continue on the next screen.
  7. Choose the device you want to set up.
    • Note: If you don't see it, the device might not be connected, may use IPv6, or have a static IP. Port forwarding only works for devices using IPv4 addresses and DHCP.
  8. Pick a common app (like Xbox or PlayStation) or tap Manual Setup to enter port numbers and settings.
    • If you’re not sure what to enter, check the app or device instructions.
  9. Select Next to finish setup.

my device has static ip and in the router it is marked as static as well.

Unfortunately, nobody in Xfinity could fix it and since I have only had the service for a week I cancelled it. I went back to ziply 2gbps which is only $70 a month so it's much cheaper too. Thanks anyway.
