Poor Wifi

For over a month now, I have had extremely poor wifi. (I have literally had to rewrite this complaint three times now because it errors out when I try to submit.) I have restarted my xfinity modem multiple times, which only helps sometimes. Often, I will turn off wifi on my phone and try to rely on phone data, but my house has poor reception, which is why I use wifi. My partner is also experiencing these same issues, so it is not just my phone. On one occasion, xfinity sent out a notification that they were working on fixing an internet issue in my area, but it doesn't seem to have helped. I am paying for the most expensive internet package, and it is seeming like a waste of money at this point, which doesn't make me eager to continue service. What is xfinity's solution to this problem?

try to add your own separate router.   be careful though, I have had two xfinity modems completely become non functional enabling bridge mode.   Bridge mode seems to only allow the modem to connect to xfinity, yet disable wifi (as it is supposed to do) AND ethernet.   I was able to test with my ddwrt router as well as with ethernet on a linux and windows 11 laptop.   Only solution was hard reset via button on the xfinity cable modem and run without bridge mode until my own cable modem arrives.

I have had good luck generally with Asus routers (pretty much any - especially flashing with Merlin firmware), or GLiNET routers (like MT6000), as well as DDWRT flashed routers.

Hey there user_3rwefn! Thank you for reaching out using our Xfinity Forums Community. I can certainly understand the troubles if you are having issues with Wi-Fi within your home; but we are happy to help! Being a consumer, I want to ensure I am getting what I pay for, so I get the frustration there. I have a few questions to help me try and assist you better. Are you having trouble with other devices connecting to the Wi-Fi? I know you had mentioned your phone and your partner's phone, but do you have other devices connecting as well? Are you having issues throughout your whole home, or just certain areas within the home?
