PlayStation 4 Controller Bluetooth Connectivity Issue

Since I got the new XB8 gateway my controller now randomly disconnects and stops working. Is there a way to turn off individual Wi-Fi channels to troubleshoot the issue?

The XB8 gateway is set by default to WPA3. You will need to change the setting to WPA2 in order to get the controller to work. The current app used to control the XB8 may have coding problems and not allow changing this setting.

It's quite possible that the XB8 may revert back to WPA3 at a future update. You may have to go through the same process again.

@XfinityAngie I previously read this article but as it states the advanced Wi-Fi settings do not allow me to turn on or off the different frequencies

@Jgoat0001, my suggestion is to switch back to the XB7 modem for now. The XB8 is a great modem, but for those devices that don't recognize the 5GHz, it can make things difficult. If it were a gaming PC, you can get a plug-in that helps that device recognize the 5GHz, but with a gaming remote, it might be difficult.

FWIW. It's not only a matter of recognizing the 5 GHz band, it's also a matter for a device to be able to recognize / talk to the now combined 2.5 and 5.0 GHz band's SSID's.
