Our neighborhood is converting to fiber what wiring will be used inside my house

I live in a neighborhood where cable and internet is supplied by comcast.  We are converting to fiber.  What wiring will be used inside my house to enable the cable and the internet?  Existing Coax?  Existing CAT5?  new fiber runs?

Good morning, @user_974l0j, coaxial cable is still used inside the residence.

Do I still have the option choose an ONT and use my own router? Or are the Xfinity opto-routers the only option? I'm getting prepared for an upgrade from DSL (25Mbps) to fiber!

A typical installation is optical fiber entering the premises and being connected to an ONT (Optical Network Terminal) device. The ONT converts the light pulses to ethernet. Ethernet cables and/or a WiFi router are connected to the ONT. The ONT and router are typically provided by the ISP.

Xfinity has been furnishing the X5001 combo fiber gateway device which has the ONT and the WiFi router built-in.
