New wifi dead spots

About a week ago new dead spots appeared suddenly in our home wifi network.  We have an xFi gateway and 3 1st gen xFi pods.  For most of the last 3 years, this setup has operated without problems.  More recently (last 9 mos.) we have had numerous intermittent internet connection problems, but this was always everywhere.  When we managed to re-establish an internet connection (after several gateway reboots), we had connectivity throughout the house.  The xFi app reports that all our pods are working and have strong strong wifi signals, and all our devices are also connected (even when they clearly aren't) and have strong signals as well.  Is there anything else we can try, or is this something that requires a visit from a technician?

Hello @user_ec90b4 and thank you for your post. Sounds like you have already tried the basic steps of troubleshooting so this would require some deeper investigation. Would you please send us your full name and complete address in a Private Message. Here are the steps for reaching out to us:

(Full credit to @BruceW for this excellent explanation!)

"Search for Xfinity Support" won't work. To send a "Direct Messaging" message to Xfinity Support:

 • Click "Sign In" if necessary

 • Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging

 • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

 • The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there

 •  - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list

 •  - An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

 • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

 • Press Enter to send it
