New modem much slower than old one

We were recently given a modem “upgrade” with our internet package which has slowed our download speeds from 40-50 MB/s to around 1-2. The same exact thing happened a few years ago and we ended up returning the new modem. Is there a way to get our old modem back? These download speeds are unacceptable for the amount of money we put out.

Good morning @user_NR11, and thanks for reaching out to us on the Xfinity forums, I hope you are having a good day so far. As someone that works from home and an avid gamer, I can understand the frustration of having issues with the internet speeds, but you have come to the right place with a team of experts that can take a look at the issue for you. Getting an upgraded modem should not have caused an issue with the speeds, so we can take a look at the account and the modem and see what is going on. Could you please send our team a direct message with your full name and full address?
