New device connected - not mine

I received a notification “a new Arris device connected to your home network”

This was not me and I did not share my password with anyone. I assume a neighbor connected to my WiFi?

I paused the device as I do not want anyone connected to my WiFi. What do I do now and how do I make my WiFi more secure so this never happens again?

You can search here for "Arris connected" and find a bunch of those posts here.  Might be a cable box you own, or it might be your neighbor's device connecting over MoCA (ethernet over coax) if you are in a close neighbor situation like an apartment/townhouse.

Xfinity's MoCA 2.0 implementation has no security.  There is a small MoCA "point of entry" filter you can install that screws right onto your coax that can solve the issue though.  It blocks the frequency MoCA uses.  See if this post is any help:

Or just not use Xfinity gear with the problem.
