My work VPN get limit for downloading large files

I've been dealing with this issue for a while now. I can connect to my work VPN, but any large file downloads get blocked, which is causing me significant trouble. This isn't a router issue, since it happens even when I connect directly via cable. It feels like Xfinity has a firewall on their end that's blocking downloads over my work VPN.

Hey @user_24pmmj , Thank you for visiting our official Xfinity Forums Community support page. We greatly appreciate you taking the time to reach out regarding your downloads. I would be more than happy to offer my assistance looking into this further for you. Does this issue occur when you are not on VPN? Do you experience these problems with image and video files, or is it across all file types?

It only with VPN on. And my VPN work normal when I swtich to other wifi or cellular. With Xfinity the download speed for any large file from our company internal web (need VPN) the download speed will either cut to 0 or the connection get disconnected.

user_24pmmj. Thank you for clarifying. Since the issue only occurs when connected to Xfinity and using your company's VPN, while the same VPN works normally on other Wi-Fi networks and cellular connections, that does help narrow things down. Based on what you've described, it doesn't necessarily indicate that Xfinity is intentionally blocking the traffic. However, it could point to a compatibility issue between the VPN configuration and the network path being used. Large file transfers are often more sensitive to factors such as MTU settings, packet fragmentation, IPv6, or security features that may not affect normal web browsing or smaller downloads.

Does the download consistently stop at a certain point, or does it vary?

Have you tried temporarily disabling Advanced Security in the Xfinity app to see if the behavior changes?

Has your company's IT team reviewed the VPN logs to see what error is reported when the download stalls or the connection drops?

You can check the steps on how to disable Advanced Security HERE.

1. It consistently.

2. Advanced Security in the Xfinity app. BTW I'm using my own wifi and modem not Xfinity gateway, but I've sort out the wifi issue and my modem has not changed/replaced before the issue occurs (also tried reset to factory setting).

3. it hard for them to locate to my personal trafic.

user_24pmmj Thank you for your continued testing with us. When you connect directly with an ethernet cable, are you bypassing the router and connecting directly to the modem?

I am having the same issue.  It works fine with other internet providers but not Xfinity. I've switched my router and that didn't make a difference either. Having the same issue in two Xfinity locations with 3 computers, so I know it's not a hardware issue or a VPN issue. Who can I contact to get assistance with this issue.  I don't want to call the generic number and go through the normal issues.  This issue is advanced.
