mt8733 modem not getting contracted speed (not even close)
Hello,
I have been wrestling with Xfinity support over this. I upgraded my internet speed to 1000mbps but can't get more than 600mbps (if lucky I can get close to 700mbps). This is running Ookla speedtest (installed app on Windows 11) and I have my laptop connected to a Motorola MoCA filter in an office upstairs, connected via coaxial cable to my MT8733.
If I connect my laptop directly to the modem (wired), I can be in the 700s and hit low 800s now and then, but not sustainable. I also understand that Xfinity markets speed in their plans as "up to" speed.
When speaking with Xfinity support, I have been asked by different agents to get a new modem from Xfinity (one agent said my modem was "old" even though I bought it in January 2023). He said he had sent "signals" to my modem and was not getting a response (???) but was able to remotely reboot it.
Thoughts?
Thanks!
