Modem replacement

I replace my current Xfinity modem with the modem I purchased are my upload speeds going to go down? I know someone did the same thing and their upload speeds went back down to 40. I appreciate any help. Thank you

I replace my current Xfinity modem with the modem I purchased are my upload speeds going to go down? ...

The best source I know of for information about the increased upload speeds is posted at https://www.reddit.com/r/Comcast_Xfinity/wiki/knowledgebase/next-generation-internet/.

The reddit page says that customer owned modems won't get faster upload speeds unless they're on the device info list, and the approved device info list contains no modems that support Xfinity voice. So I can get a new modem with faster speeds only if I cancel my xfinity voice service. Or am I missing something?

In addition, this reddit thread (CM2050V pulled from 200Mbps upload compatibility list : r/Comcast_Xfinity (reddit.com))  shows that Xfinity has downgraded the CM2050V performance for unclear reasons. Does anyone have any information on that?

Thank you for reaching out to us on our community forums @user_sdf90e! The CM2050V has been temporarily rolled back to a pre-enhanced speed firmware while stability issues are being corrected. Once we receive the bug fix from the vendor, we can run it through certification with an updated firmware.

At this time, there are not any customer-owned modem compatible with our Xfinity Voice services and the next generation upload speeds. As a temporary solution, our Xfinity Wireless gateways support the next generation upload speeds and Xfinity Voice services.

While there are not any customer-owned modem compatible with our next generation upload speeds and Xfinity Voice services, our engineers are working to approve more customer owned modems.

... Xfinity has downgraded the CM2050V performance for unclear reasons ...

The only explanation they've given is the one at https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/your-home-network/faster-internet-speeds-now-available-until-you-backdated-my-modem/65978b4f2e4f0f284530df88?commentId=659a8be32e4f0f2845312956. Don't expect too much . . .
