MG8702: There are 34 Downstream Bonded Channels. ONLY ONE Upstream Bonded Channels
Hello,
I had problems to activate the XB7-CM on June 30, 2026 :
When Powering up the XB7-CM (after the coaxial cable and power supper are connected to the XB7-CM),
The Bottom four ethernet ports light up for awhile and then all lights off !!!!!
I decided to activate my Motorola MG8702
by calling 1-855-652-3446 with customer support for about 50 minutes.
The MG8702 was able to connect to internet.
Now I need your help for the following issue:(??)
It took 6-10 minutes for the upstream light to be solid blue !!
There is ONLY ONE Upstream Channels (Normally there should be 4 Upstream Channels for MG8702).
Speeds of the Wi-Fi Devices: Download speed is GOOD; But upload speed is about 6 Mbps
(normally at least 10 Mbps for MG8702 for the 300 Mbps plan)..
"MG8702.Connection.34Downstream Bonded Channels. ONLY ONE Upstream Bonded Channels"
The event log shows a lot of the following
Event Log
Time Priority Description
Mon Jun 1 2026 Critical (3) UCD invalid or channel unusable;
19:38:46
Mon Jun 1 2026 Critical (3) No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out;
19:38:46
Mon Jun 1 2026 Critical (3) UCD invalid or channel unusable;
19:38:46
Mon Jun 1 2026 Critical (3) No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out;
19:38:47
Critical (3) UCD invalid or channel unusable;
The "UCD invalid or channel unusable" critical error on your Motorola MG8702 means
your modem has lost communication with the ISP’s central equipment (CMTS).
This is almost always caused by severe line noise (ingress) or
damaged physical cables outside your home rather than the modem itself.
Critical (3) No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out;
A "No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out" in your modem logs means
your cable router is trying to communicate with your ISP,
but its signals are being lost or corrupted before they reach the network
I have performed the followings several times:
1. Reset the MG8702 to Factory settings
2. Power down; Disconnect the Coaxial cable; Reconnect the Coaxial cable; Power up;
Same result...
Please advise
TIA
Henry
