MB7220 with 600mbps plan causing latency spikes?

I was talking with an agent about my latency spikes and told her I have a modem rated for 200 Mbps (MB7220). I already knew I would not get more than 200 Mbps but she said I was getting latency spikes and having to reset the modem frequently because my modem is "not compatible" with my plan. Just wanted someone to confirm this

... (MB7220) ... latency spikes and having to reset the modem frequently ...

The MB7220 is no longer approved for any plan speed and should be replaced. See https://www.xfinity.com/support/devices.

Latency and frequent resets can be an indication of poor signal quality, often due to poor coax connections or damaged coax cable, usually in or near your home. If you want to troubleshoot this yourself, please see Internet Troubleshooting Tips. If you still need help, please post the following information from your modem or gateway at http://192.168.100.1:

  • downstream power levels, SNR, and error counts
  • upstream power levels
  • event log, if available (Be sure to remove or blot out any MAC addresses. Forum security processing considers them "personal information" and may prevent the event log from posting if these are present.)
