lag spikes
-
Experiencing lag spikes during peek times (morning / evening / weekends).
The lag spikes are transient lasting from 5 seconds to 5 minutes.
The spikes are large enough to disconnect me and make any games or network sockets unusable.
When I contact XFinity the agents upsell me with faster internet. I hate this with a passion as I am testing with minimal load. The issue is disconnections / poor internet quality not throughput / speed.
When I press for answers they confirm that there is a 99% uptime SLA which they are failing.
I once got a technician to my home and was told everything is fine. This is because the lag spikes / disconnects are infrequent enough that when the technicians test my internet (during non-peek times) the connection will pass. Besides, I think they are testing for any signal, not for the uptime SLA.
I see other people with similar issues
What can I do? I really want them to replace the coax's for my entire city at this point.

Hey there, @user_76mej9. Our team can definitely understand how stressful and irritating it is to have issues with your internet connection. We all work from home on this end of the screen so we can completely relate to how it causes you to make arrangements that you didn't expect. Have you gotten the chance to utilize the Xfinity Assistant within the Xfinity app while you're experiencing one of your intermittent connections? The Xfinity Assistant is a great feature to knock out some of the basic troubleshooting steps and questions we cover. Are the issues happening on wireless and wired connections? Is it happening on multiple devices or just a specific one?
