Kindle connection

I cannot get my new kindle to connect.  I have tried all the recommendations including changing the network to 2.4gHz.  I have Gateway XB7 router.  This is the 3rd new kindle I have ordered so the problem must be on my network side.  Please help.  Thank you.

user_1627bn I would be reaching out if I were in your shoes too. My kids use a kindle daily so I get it. Are you having issues with any other device connecting to your WiFi Network?

@XfinityPeterH no other connection issues.  I can see the kindle on my network and the kindle will connect to Amazon webpage, just won’t register.  Amazon support hasn’t been helpful, but I think there is some firewall or something with my gateway.  I’m going to go to a friend’s house today and try to register. If that doesn’t work, I think I turn it in.

@user_1627bn Sounds like a plan! I'm curious to see if you're able to register the Kindle at your friends house as well. Do you have our xFi Complete advanced security suite? If it is a firewall issue you may be able to try temporary disabling advanced security. Here's how:

o disable Advanced Security in the Xfinity app, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Security tab.
  2. Select Advanced Security.
  3. Choose Advanced Security under Settings.
  4. A pop-up window will appear; select Turn Off.

Note that disabling Advanced Security will remove 24/7 risk monitoring and real-time reporting from your home network, which is not recommended as it exposes all devices to potential threats.

For mobile devices, you can disable Advanced Security on the go by accessing the settings in the Xfinity app.
