ISP Location Incorrect

I am unable to log in to the STARZ app (via Roku, mobile app, or website on my laptop). On the Roku and mobile apps, I keep getting an "Unsupported Territory" error followed by a "Correlation ID" that has a bunch of alphanumeric characters. On my laptop it is an infinite loop from the login screen back to the main STARZ homepage. I have talked to STARZ tech support multiple times, they say the issue is with my ISP and it is not registering within the US for me to watch anything. I am in Houston, TX and live in a connected community (the apartment I live in comes with Xfinity internet pre-installed and paid for with the monthly rent).

I have tried multiple times to power cycle my router and also uninstall the app from my phone, Roku player, and also have used different browsers on my laptop, and cleared cookies, history and cache. The ONLY thing that worked is when I downloaded a VPN and then also set it to Houston, TX, then STARZ worked on my laptop and phone but I have no way to enable the VPN on my Roku player, and the main way I watch streaming services is through that.

All the websites I use to look up my own IP address show me in Houston the overwhelming majority of the time which is correct, sometimes in California or New York, but always in the US, so I don't know what the issue could be.

Not sure what else to do or who can help me, STARZ tech support is out of ideas and keep telling me to contact Comcast for their Xfinity tech support team to get my geolocation resolved.

Can you get Starz to tell you what Geolocation service they use?  Whatever service they use is probably who you will need to contact to get a correction.

I didn't know there were actual geolocation services, I will reach back out to them now, thank you for that knowledge!

Great advice, @strega7. We do have this link with more information as well : https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/correct-geolocation-data

If Starz is not able to give you an exact service, we would recommend you try the ones listed, @wolverine365.

Greetings, @wolverine365! I hope your week has been treating you well. Thanks so much for taking a moment out of your busy day to leave a post on our community forum about this location issue. You have definitely come to the right place for assistance.

It is a little unusual that a VPN set to Houston will allow you to access STARZ without any issues, but your own, native connection fails. Are you also able to access the mobile app while using mobile data, instead of your in-home Wi-Fi, by any chance?

I just tried that and yes, in fact the mobile app works when connected to mobile data (LTE or 5G), but as soon as I enable WiFi and my phone connects to my router, the app kicks me off (logs me off) and the infinite login screen loop starts again.

That is interesting and also strange, any insights into what may be happening?

I am having a similar issue.  I have Hulu Live and we had an xfinity outage a few dagys ago where it was down most of the day, a huge outage in Mead colorado.  Ever since we got our xfinity internet back, my hulu live app shows different local channels that are in Colorado springs and Pueblo, several hours from Denver.  I have logged out of the Hulu App and back in.  No change. I have also unplugged the xfinity modem.  Still shows local news channels that are no in my area and I cannot access them either.  When I try, it tells me I am not in that location.  When I read informationon line, it says that Hulu and other apps use the ip address from the router, not the GPS location.  How do I get the IP address of the xfinity router back to Denver?

I hope you have a better outcome, STARZ just wrote back to me there's nothing more they can do and punted it to Xfinity, saying it's their issue...
