Internet Speed

Hi, I pay for 2100 download and 300 upload, and im only getting 800 download and 300 upload. I have checked on the fcc broadband map and it shows I can get 2000/300. I upgraded from 800 download to 2100 download, so im worrying if it didnt get updated on the backend yet. plz and thanks

@Guod_Con Thank you for making us aware of your internet speed concern via Forum. I would be more than happy to help see what we can do to help resolve this speed issue you're experiencing. So that we don't go over something you've already done, can you please share with me what troubleshooting steps have you completed on your own?

@XfinityRaul Hey Raul,

https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/your-home-network/gigabit-speed-troubleshooting-video/602dae4bc5375f08cde533d6

I watched and went through this gigabit troubleshooting video and have watched others. I have latest drivers for my PC as well.

1) Connected to my modem via ethernet

2) Test speeds on Xfinity network
3) Verified my Gateway has gigabit speeds
4) I don't have any network adapters
5) My computer is over the minimum system requirements
6) Downstream and Upstream power levels are good
7) Not related to security settings

8) Both my Gateway and ethernet cord are new

Look forward to hearing from you :)

If you are receiving the 300 Mbps on the upload, that does show the device is provisioned correctly @Guod_Con. Are you using the Xfinity xFi Gateway or using your own personal modem? If using your own personal device, what is the make and model of the modem being used?

Do you also know the make and model of the Network Interface Card (NIC) that is being used by the computer? You would need a 2 Gbps or higher NIC in order to receive the higher speeds as using a standard 1 Gbps NIC would bottleneck the speeds being received to around 800-900 Mbps typically.

My NIC model is Realtek PCIe. 2.5GbE Ethernet and I have the speeds set to 2.5Gb within device manager.

That is awesome! With using an Xfinity xFi Gateway, we should be able to get some additional tests performed to see what is being delivered to the home @Guod_Con. Could you please open the Xfinity App -> WiFi tab -> Troubleshoot button -> "Test your whole home network". This will perform a speed test to the gateway which will show us the speeds the modem is receiving.

Are you also plugging in your device into port 4 on the gateway? This would be the only 2.5 Gbps port on the device. It should have a small orange line on the back of it.

@XfinityDemitrius Coolio, I'll try this when I'm home in an hour. I was getting full speed when testing the gateway in the app. So I may have been missing the information to plug it into port 4. *Facepalm*
