Internet Speed is Half What I Pay For

Someone from a competing company knocked on my door and told me I am way overpaying for WiFi in my area. She showed me how to independently check my internet speed and I was shocked to see that my internet speed is consistently less than half of what I pay for on the Superfast plan. I work from home so this is a MAJOR issue and super upsetting to think my money has been going to waste all this time. I tried contacting Xfinity assistant but it’s useless, and every time I call the support line it turns me back to the assistant. I need HELP! I just want to get what I pay for or I’m going to have to switch to the other company because this is crazy.

user_8685q5 Thanks for posting on our Community Forums. I'd always recommend starting in the Xfinity app to run the automated diagnostics. It will help determine if there are any factors with the outside network lines that can be causing issues with your internet speeds. Do you notice any drops in connection as well as the slower speeds?

I am having the issue too, it's been getting worse and worse. I have had xfinity for 8 months, the first couple were okay but even more recently the speeds of my ethernet desktop has been sub 100 Mbps when i pay for 300. and this morning its running around 45 according to fast.com . I have a phone, a desktop, and a powered off laptop on my wifi. New router and moduem with secure connections. I have built my own PC and I'm gen Z, and doubt this would be a user error.

Hi @user_tmcwjj Thank you for reaching out today. We are happy to take a look at your connection. Have you tried running a speed test with a hardwired connected device through the Xfinity App?
