Internet intermittently drops out... several techs, still broken

Hey all,

For over a month now my internet drops out intermittently. When it does, I can ping my router, but I can't ping 8.8.8.8, 4.4.4.4, my modem's public IP, or my Comcast next-hop. It lasts for anywhere from 5-15 minutes on average. It varies in frequency; the newest modem does it about every hour, the CMH-1000V2 did it more often. When it does, the Xfinity app also shows my modem is off-line, and usually the upstream light on the modem flashes (but not always). It does it much more-so during the day, and becomes more stable at night. I suppose this is because the coax bus is more heavily used during the day on our street. In my house, we barely do more than some streaming video. Comcast basically says, on their end, they do not see my modem flapping. They see a fairly strong connection with no disconnections.  

What I've done:

-Tried a new Arris S33

-Tried a new Netgear CMH-1000V2

-Tried a Netgear CMG-500 that had worked for 1 year+ at 2 residences

-Tried 2 routers

-Directly connected my PC to the modem over copper cabling 

What Comcast has tried:

-Replacing outdoor coax connections at the demarc on the side of the house

-Removed in-line splitters inside the house

-Got on the tree, by the road by the house, and replaced the terminations to the "powered splitter", but did not replace the power supply as Comcast states it would require engaging a separate electrical entity

-Quickly asked a neighbor if they were experiencing issues as well, to which they replied no. I work from home with latency-sensitive applications, and so it's a mystery if they are and not noticing it

  • Click "Sign In" if necessary

 

 

  • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

 

  • The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there

 

  • - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list

 

  • - An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

 

  • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

 

  • Press Enter to send it
