Internet intermittent connectivity issues - typically lasting 2-3 minutes and self-resolve without intervention

Hi Xfinity team:

I have a recurring pattern of intermittent connectivity issues. I will lose connection for 2-3 minutes, and then without doing anything the connection will re-establish.

Modem is a self-owned Motorola 8611. The event log for the modem shows Critical (3) and Notice (6) errors. The pervasive Critical (3) errors are "UCD invalid or channel unusable" and "SYNC Timing Synchronization failure"

Also subjective but notable is that issues 'seem' more frequent following rain.

The Xfinity online assistant/chatbot performed its scan and did not see any issues with the connection. Motorola online support says that Critical (3) errors are typically a symptom of a physical connectivity issue. Wondering if we have a way of determining whether it's the cable running from the pole to the modem or the modem itself.

Hey there, @user_fkx6r0, thanks for reaching out through Xfinity Forums regarding your internet connection. I would be happy to help with the ongoing issues with your connection. I work from home and I know how important it is to have a solid connection. I would like to take a look at your signals on our end. We may need to have a tech out to your location to check the lines locally as well.

If you can please send us a Direct Message with your full name and your full address.

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:
Click "Sign In" if necessary
Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or  https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging
Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there
- As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list
- An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
Press Enter to send it.
