Internet connection dropping

My internet connection periodically drops, forcing a restart of the modem to reconnect.  This problem has been happening sporadically for the past 5 months.  What is causing the problem, and what does xfinity intend to do to prevent a continuation?  My internet service is practically unusable, but I still get the full monthly bill.  If this problem is not addressed properly, I will be forced to find another provider after 20 years.

There is no need for any more modem checks; my modem is working properly.  I noticed that others are experiencing this same issue, and xfinity has made it impossible to report the issue on the automated system.  What the heck is going on?  Why is comcast/xfinity treating loyal customers with such contempt?
