Intermittent upstream packet loss / rubberbanding (LAN clean), loss starts after Xfinity gateway

I’ve been dealing with intermittent packet loss that causes noticeable rubberbanding in online games, disruptions during video streaming, and slower upload speeds.

I’ve tested this with continuous pings:

ping 10.0.0.1 -t
ping 1.1.1.1 -t

My local gateway at 10.0.0.1 stays stable with no timeouts, but 1.1.1.1 will occasionally show Request timed out at the exact same time I experience rubberbanding.

Xfinity has already:

  • Replaced the modem/gateway
  • Replaced the indoor coax
  • Checked the orange drop line and said it looked fine
  • Submitted a maintenance ticket

An MTR also shows packet loss beginning at the first Comcast-side hop (10.54.38.170) and continuing to the final destination.

The issue is still happening immediately after the equipment replacement, and coax cable replacement.

Does this sound like an outside plant, tap, node, CMTS, upstream/return-path, or ingress/noise issue? Is there anything specific I should ask the maintenance team to check?

I’m mainly trying to figure out what could cause intermittent packet loss after the gateway while the LAN connection remains completely stable.
