Intermittent Internet Connection Problems

I’m experiencing recurring, intermittent service drops with my Xfinity internet connection.

This problem is happening with multiple computers and devices, not just one thing. It is happening with both wired connections and WiFi connections. My router was recently replaced by a technician and the problems are still happening.

Sometimes I will be using the internet on my desktop computer, say watching a YouTube video, and it will freeze. I will try to open other websites in other tabs and nothing will happen because there is no internet connection. After 20 or 30 seconds, internet will come back. Also happens on phone via WiFi. No indication of problems by looking at the router, or by troubleshooting in the Xfinity app. The app does not help at all, nor does restarting the router.

Sometimes I will be streaming to Twitch, and I will lose connection for a minute, several times over the course of a few hours. Sometimes, I will be playing a video game online on my Playstation, and my character will lag and have control problems, and the game will indicate an internet connection problem to me.

This problem has been happening randomly and intermittently for the past two months or so. It certainly seems to me like the problem is not at my house between the router and my devices. The problem is down the line somewhere.

I don’t want to talk to a recording or an AI chatbot, I want an actual human being to fix this problem for me.

My problem seems to have been resolved. I contacted Xfinity Support via Direct Message. They sent someone to my home. They first replaced my router and all the connections to the wire that comes out of the ground. After that did not work, they sent someone else to check the pole where the cable comes, and replaced all the connections there. That seemed to finally fix the problem. I even waited over a week later, and still the problem is gone.

So I thank the support people and they tech people who fixed the problem. And I put this answer here in case anyone else finds it helpful.

Hey there, @Eugene58, thanks for reaching out through Xfinity Forums regarding your internet issues. I understand how frustrating internet issues can be, especially while gaming. Are you having issues with your connection at specific times, or is it random?
