I Have Lost My Xfinitywifi Hotspot Listing On

my Anroid phone Networks listing, I have checked my account and my Hotspot WIFI is Enabled, but not showing on my android phone for about a week, when I turn on my phones wifi. Only my WIFI "Named" Network is listed.  I have not changed or renamed my WiFi info / or password.

Thanks ~

2.4ghz hotspot has been disabled in most areas for some reason only 5ghz is being broadcasted now. If phone doesn't have dual band 5ghz you won't be able to see it.

@Random1523

Does anyone know technically what "some reason" is for not supporting 2.4GHz?

I noticed the Portland, Oregon downtown area lost a lot of hotspots in recent months. Assumed it might have something to do with thwarting rioters.

I've also lost the "Xfinity" hotspot on both of my PCs.

it was working fine before and now it's just gone nowhere to be found. I can still connect to my home network but Xfinity has just disappeared.

I have an ASUS laptop

Do you have to do something to switch it ? or does it automatically switch if one stops working and IF you have the other setting?
So there is no way to use xfinitywifi hotspots from home ??

This must have happened to a lot of people - why would Xfinity remove something that everyone is using ??

Thanks

Yes you can still use home hotspot if device has 5ghz 802.11ac Wifi

Most older devices only 2.4ghz wifi so they can't see or connect to hotspot anymore. Would have to buy 5ghz USB adapter for computer/laptop.

I am still not receiving my public Xfinity hotspot on my Android phone - Is there any way to find out why and how to have it show up again  in my available network listings when I turn on WIFI on my phone ?? How do I know if my phone is 2.4 or 5 ?  I  upgraded my Modem and X1 boxes awhile back and the Xfinity hotspot  was still showing on my phone.
thank you :-(
