i cannot connect my printer

i am getting a message that says the internet connection fails at:  MAC address filtering check.  I logged into my modem and manually added the MAC address of my printer, and it still will not connect.  I rebooted modem and printer.

Hi there! Thanks for taking the time to post. Our team will be happy to help. You can find the full instructions on how to connect your printer here: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/connecting-your-smartphone-or-tablet-to-your-home-network

Here are some steps you can try:

When your printer is connected to WiFi, you can print from any computer, phone, or tablet on your home network.

Follow these steps:

  1. Go to the printer's control panel.
  2. Choose Setup. Looks like a wrench icon.
  3. Select Network.
  4. Pick your WiFi network name. (Your printer might call it "SSID.")

Many printers have a Wireless Setup Wizard that walks you through the steps.

  • Don’t see your network? Scroll to the bottom and type in your network name and password.
  • Still not connecting? Try printing a wireless network test report to check for issues.

You can try, but the USB connector on their gateway devices typically does not pass data. Usually it's just enough 5VDC to charge a smart phone or power a small fan.
