HP Envy 4500 not connecting
I was recently upgraded to a new gateway (XB8? Its white).
Since then my Envy 4500 does not connect to the wifi.
I have done a hard reset on the printer.
The WIFI spectrum analyzer says 2.4 and 5.0 GHz are active with 802.11 a, ac, ax, b, g and n all active.
The printer can see the SSID, the WPA name and password are correct but it will not connect. All other devices in the house connect fine.
The printer output shows "No filtering" in the settings.
I really want my printer to work.

Thanks for the response.
I have zero patience so I called in a favor with one of my consulting network engineers (I retired from a huge networking company).
His solution took 30 seconds:
- go to edit WIFI settings in the Xfinity app
- check the security setting
- Change the security setting from WPA3-Personal-transition to WPA2
- rerun the networking wizard on the printer.
Bingo bango boingo
problem solved.

Hello user_9eb66f, thank you for reaching out via our Xfinity Community Forums. I understand how frustrating it is when a new gateway throws a wrench into your existing setup, especially when it comes to a printer you rely on. It's definitely disappointing when everything else connects smoothly except for one key device. Let's get your Envy 4500 back online.
Here's a breakdown of how we can troubleshoot this:
1. Gateway Compatibility Check:
* While the XB8 is a powerful gateway, sometimes older devices like the Envy 4500 can have compatibility issues with newer Wi-Fi standards (like ax).
* We'll check if there are any specific settings on the XB8 that might be interfering with the printer's connection.
2. Band Steering:
* Modern gateways often use band steering, which automatically directs devices to the optimal Wi-Fi band (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz).
* Sometimes, older printers struggle with this. We can explore options to temporarily separate the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands to see if that resolves the issue.
3. WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup):
* If your printer supports WPS, we can try using that to connect it to the network. This often simplifies the connection process.
* Please check your printer, if it has a WPS button.
4. IP Address Conflicts:
* Although unlikely, there might be an IP address conflict. We can try assigning a static IP address to the printer to rule this out.
5. Firmware Updates:
* Although the printer is an older model, we can check to see if there are any firmware updates for the printer that can be applied.
