How do I get an XB10?

Hello, I have a XB7 and I would like to upgrade to a XB8 or XB10 how would I get my hands on one? (Also related I believe the XB7 is having bad bufferfloat because I always have 50 latency which is high for my plan. My plan is Class-X Internet EPON 1g/1g sym speeds.)

If you have "EPON" / FTTH (Fiber To The Home) service, you can't use the XB10. The XB10 is for DOCSIS / coax cable service. You would need an XER10.

Greetings @user_assb41, thank you for joining us here on the community forum support page. I see you've done a fair amount of research on the upgrade as you've used most of the buzzwords aligned with the products. As @EG mentioned there are a few requirements that must be met to be eligible for an XB8, XB10, OR XER10. These requirements can and likely will change over time. At this time customers with our 1 gig speed or higher in base or next-generation (mid-split) markets are eligible for the XB8. The XB10 would be for customers that are in FDX (Previously known as X-class) DOCSIS 4.0 markets with 500 Mbps of speed or faster. Our latest release being the XER10 is only eligible for EPON/FTTH customers of all speed tiers aside from internet essentials.

We would be more than happy to take a closer peak under the head to resolve the latency issue and check to see if you are eligible for a new modem. Just send our team a direct message with your full name, the name listed on the account (if different), and the service address associated with your account.

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:
 Click "Sign In" if necessary
 Click the "Direct Messaging" icon
Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there
 - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list
 - An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
 Press Enter to send it.
