How do I change my WiFi network name and password?

How do I change the wifi name and password of the Gateway?

I was told to open the XFinity app, select WiFi then WiFi details.  All this does is show me how to find the default network name SSID and password stuck on the Gateway, but there's no option to change it.

I also saw that it could be changed by going to the admin tool at http://10.0.0.1/ and logging in, with the username "admin" and password written somewhere on the Gateway.  But I don't see a password written anywhere, so I've no idea what the password would be.

If possible I'd much rather use the admin tool than the app.  Thanks

Hey there, @mradocy, thanks for reaching out through Xfinity Forums regarding your WiFi password and username. Here is a link with the details on our to make those changes, https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/view-change-wifi-password. For the admin, your password would be the password on the bottom or back of the gateway.

I figured it out.  For anyone else who was having issues like me:

1. Go to http://10.0.0.1 .  You need to use a Chromium browser, like Edge or Chrome.  Firefox won't work correctly.

2. Login with the following credentials:
username: admin
password: password (documentation claims this was written on the bottom of the Gateway, it was not)

3. Go to Gateway > Connection > WiFi and you'll see the 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz private networks listed.  Press the EDIT button next to the network to edit its SSID and password (remember to write them down first because you'll get disconnected immediately after saving)

Thanks for nothing "XfinityJeniece".  Maybe instead of investing in an unusable AI chatbot and forcing customers to download an app on mobile data just to set up WiFi, Comcast could put a bit more effort into making sure its services actually work.
