Honeywell thermostat pro series 6 does not connect to xfinity wifi

My honeywell thermostat does not connect to xfinity wifi anymore.

It was working for last 2 years without any issues, but recently from few weeks it stopped connecting.

Everytime I try to connect the thermostat to the wifi it says "Unable to connect to the wifi, incorrect password".

I tried the following and none of them worked, same error "Incorrect password"

Reset wifi password

Reset thermostat settings

Split wifi band, 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz

Finally, just to check if it was the router issue, i tried connecting the thermostat to my mobile Hotspot - it got connected instantaneously

So the issue seems to be in the xfinity wifi/router.

Please let me know how i can get this issue resolved?

Thanks,

Supritha

user_jvte3a We appreciate you reaching out to us over our Community Forums. Have you tried connecting the thermostat direct to the 2.4 GHz band?

Thank you for letting us know that you tried connecting to the 2.4 GHz band and received the same error @user_jvte3a, we appreciate it. Have you tried restarting your equipment? What model gateway are you using?

I have the same problem with my WIFi on the GE oven. It happened when xfinity updated. Hopefully they will fix this.

I also just started having this issue after upgrading to the XB8 gateway. Can you please help resolve this? It seems to be a recent issue for many people

Hi there!  We can certainly assist @bobbyJag26.  What error are you receiving?  Have you tried rebooting the device?

Yes I tried restarting the thermostat and xfinity modem.

It still didn't solve the issue.

Like others mentioned it stopped working after the recently update.

My modem was given by Xfinity

Modem model:  XB7-T
