High latency on upload (1gig internet plan)

Hello, just recently enabled the 1gigabit service at my new residence. It came preinstalled with fiber to gpon box and to a newer xfinity xfi gateway.

The initial test on the gateway was showing very poor upload latency. I then enabled the xfi gateway to use bridge mode so I can use my own firewall etc.

Long story short is the latency on upload is terrible. I even tried to tame it on my firewall using limiters and it simply wont improve.

Hello there @justinrk ! Sorry you are having trouble! Besides this testing site, what is the max upload you are able to achieve when uploading to a site? Is that something you are able to test?

@XfinityFrank 23.8 Mbps according to his results posted above.

I have a similar situation but my connection is 800 Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload. The upload is bad too.

@cruiserusa I removed my ASUS router and conected my PC directly to the modem. These are the results:

@cruiserusa Thanks for reaching out about your upload speeds. We can definitley troubleshoot with you to help. I understand you have removed your router did the speed change? Do you have any additional devices connected such as a splitter or any extenders? Do you own your modem or are you renting ours?

Are multiple devices experiencing the same speeds?

@XfinityKei the issue is the high latency on upload, please see Active Upload in ms (miliseconds) on the results. The issue is not the speed.

I removed the router and the latency on upload is still high around 200~400.

There's no splitter. The cable that comes from the street goes into a connector inside a external box and it conects to the cable that goes inside the house and then to the modem.

I own the modem Arris SB8200.
