Have to reboot modem multiple times a day to regain speed
I have the gig extra plan with a xb8 modem but rarely get near my speed unless it's right after rebooting the modem. Then later on I'll check it and it's slow again. (800+gbps) Is there anything I can look into/test before I have to get a service call? TIA

Hmmm. That's odd. The device may be malfunctioning. There's one more thing to try before getting swapped out for another by them. Try hard resetting the device to factory defaults by pressing and holding in the recessed reset button on the rear (or use the WPS button if it doesn't have a reset button hole) for 30 seconds. This can sometimes clear up some weird behavior issues. You will lose any customized settings, and they will need to be re-configured from scratch.

You'll need to get the techs involved again until the issue gets fixed properly. Bear in mind that if the premises facing techs can not find or fix a problem at your home, it is they who are responsible for escalating it up to their line / network / maintenance dept. techs. The problem may lie beyond your home in the local neighborhood infrastructure somewhere but it is their S.O.P. to start at the home. And if the problem is found to be on their side of the demarcation point, there will not be any charge.
Good luck !
