Grounding wire

Where does my cable need to be grounded?
can it be a stake in the ground where it enters my house.

Hi! @user_d0m4kw Thank you for reaching out on the Xfinity community forums. Hope your day is going well! The ground wire is typically in the house box and indicated by a green wire. Our technicians ground the wire when they come out to activate the outlets.

Should it be where it enters the house?
A new box was put in that just grounds to the electric meter and the cable doesn’t enter at that location.

It usually at the point of entry into the house (usually the Demarc box). We can definitely send out a technician to help with this as well.

FWIW, bonding the ground wire to the electric meter conforms to the NEC code and is the way that it is done in some states. Local codes vary.
